Two-vehicle crash closes busy B3053 Fawley Road




TWO people had to be cut free following a crash which closed the busy B3053 through Fawley this morning (Wednesday).

Firefighters, paramedics and police responded to the incident which took place around 11.15am in Fawley Road, near its junction with School Road.

Both the trapped casualties were released from one of the vehicles by fire crews from Beaulieu and Hardley, who also provided emergency care to a patient in the other car.

All three were then handed over to paramedics, but no further details of their conditions were available.

The road was closed between Church lane and Calshot Road while emergency services dealt with the incident, and police advised motorists it affected access to Calshot beach.

Officers announced the closure was still in place around 2.45pm for investigation work, with access to Fawley Infant School via School Road and then through Fawley Village.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire force said: “We were called at 11.16am today (Wednesday) to a report of a two-car collision in Fawley Road, Fawley, near the junction with School Road.

“Officers attended, along with other emergency services, and part of Fawley Road remains closed while the vehicles are recovered.”
