Man (68) dies after collision with two vehicles on A326 Marchwood bypass
A PEDESTRIAN has died following a collision with a car and a van that closed off a stretch of the A326 Marchwood bypass for five hours.
Paramedics and police responded to the incident involving a Volkswagen Transporter and a Suzuki Swift near to the Priory Clinic sometime between 6.50pm and 6.55pm last night (Monday).
The casualty, a 68-year-old man from Salisbury, died as a result.
His next of kin was informed and has been receiving support from specialist officers.
Motorists were urged to find an alternative route as the bypass was shut in both directions from the Dibden Roundabout to Twiggs Lane.
Officers investigating the collision are urging people to come forward if they witnessed it or if they may have seen someone waiting to cross the road.
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Officers would also like to speak to anyone who may have been passing through the area between 6.45pm and 6.55pm who has a dashcam fitted to their vehicle.”
