Pedestrian involved in Christchurch car collision dies

A PEDESTRIAN in her 70s who was badly injured in a collision with a car in Christchurch on Tuesday has died, police have said.

As reported, the incident, involving a black Ford Fiesta, happened in Quay Road just after 8am. The woman was taken to hospital, and officers today (Friday) confirmed she died from her injuries.

The road was closed for five hours while the incident was dealt with.

Sergeant Craig Tatton, of the Dorset Police traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died and her loved ones at this extremely difficult time for them.”

He said police were continuing to investigate the collision and renewed an appeal for witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
