Pedestrian seriously injured in collision with ambulance and 4x4 on the A31 between Woolsbridge Roundabout and Ashley Heath Roundabout




A pedestrian was badly hurt in a collision with two vehicles, including an ambulance, on the A31 at Ashley Heath in the early hours.

Police are urging witnesses or motorists with dash cam footage to come forward as they investigate the incident which took place around 3.50am this morning (Monday).

It involved a grey Land Rover Evoque and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ambulance on the eastbound carriageway between the Woolsbridge Roundabout and the Ashley Heath Roundabout.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital with what were described by the Dorset force as serious injuries.

Road closures were put in place as emergency crews worked at the scene before being lifted shortly after 5am.

Roads policing team Sgt Mark Scammell said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries as we seek to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I am urging any witnesses to please contact us.

“I would also ask any motorists with dash cam fitted to their vehicle who were travelling along the A31 in the Ashley Heath area around the relevant time to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road was closed.”
