BLACKFIELD & Langley resumed their league campaign with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Brockenhurst at the Meadens Skoda Arena on Tuesday.
The visitors got off to a tremendous start and dominated throughout, never allowing the Badgers to get a foothold.
Blackfield’s bright start was rewarded after just 70 seconds when referee Thomas Copping pointed to the spot. Sami Makhloufi converted with tremendous confidence, rooting Brock keeper James Mayo to the spot with his stuttering run-up and misdirection.
Blackfield doubled their advantage in the 27th minute when Mitchell Speechley-Price, who has played more than 150 games for Brockenhurst, slotted home.
After the break, Brockenhurst manager Pat McManus tried to shift the game’s flow by substituting James Shorey for Eder Batista. Unfortunately for the 101 Badgers fans in attendance, Copping pointed to the spot in the 57th minute when a player was clipped from behind.
Makhloufi repeated his stuttering run-up, succeeding this time to his left.
Blackfield spurned multiple chances to get their fourth goal in the final 10 minutes with Speechley-Price looking the most likely to score.
Both sides are in action tomorrow (Saturday), Blackfield in league action at home against Bournemouth Poppies, and Brockenhurst taking on US Portsmouth away in the FA Vase.
