Pennington man Duane Willard handed suspended jail term

ATTACKING, threatening and harassing a woman landed a Pennington man with a suspended prison sentence.

Duane Willard (36), of Meadow Road, pleaded guilty to assaulting the victim, occasioning her actual bodily harm, in Milford on 29th July 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to charges of sending her threatening electronic messages, as well as plaguing her with phone calls and messages between that date and 14th August.

Ruling the offences were so serious only custody could be justified, Southampton magistrates suspended a 26-week term for two years.

Willard was ordered to undergo rehabilitation activity during the supervision period, and pay £239 in court charges.
