AUDIENCES are promised a gag-filled gallop through time as Horrible Histories Barmy Britain arrives at Christchurch Regent Centre for two shows on Thursday 18 April.
Describing the visiting production as a “major coup” for the Christchurch theatre, spokesperson Gary Theobald said: “This show appeared at the Apollo Theatre in the West End as 'Barmy Britain - Part Four' and is set to return there later in 2019.
"It is wonderful to have such a prestigious show live in Christchurch.”
The hit show written by Terry Deary and Neal Foster from Deary’s bestselling Horrible Histories books involves just two actors playing all the roles.
The 65-minute production is described a hilarious romp through history with all the nasty bits included.
Audiences will find out if they would be shaken or stirred by Richard III; discover how to mount a mutiny against King Henry VIII; and see Mary Tudor knock the spots off Mary Queen of Scots!
Families will also have a chance to peep into the world of Samuel Pepys and help Georgian detectives find the headless man.
There will also be trip into the dark with the night soil men and advice on how to survive the first ever train ride.
Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain which is live on stage in Christchurch on Thursday 18th April at 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
