New Forest District Council refuse revised plans to demolish Ringwood bungalow and replace with four homes

AN application to demolish a Ringwood bungalow and built four detached houses has been refused for the second time.

A revised scheme had been put forward by Caspian Developments Ltd which, it claimed, dealt with all the reasons the first proposal was rejected.

But New Forest District Council did not agree and threw out the plans again.

The company had wanted to demolish 102 Northfield Road and replace it with a new access leading to four detached houses with 12 parking spaces, a turning area and garages.

It said the bungalow was in a poor state of repair and the rest of the site was overgrown. It had previously withdrawn an application to develop the plot before submitting a second and third plan.

In its third application the company said it had worked on solving problems cited by a planning officer which included overcrowding, overdevelopment of the site and poor layout.

It said that the revised scheme “therefore represents a form of development that can be accommodated on the site, without harming visual or residential amenities, and can provide meaningful landscaping and tree planting that can be secured by planning condition”.

But it was refused on the basis that with the “exception of smaller garages” and “minor elevational alterations to the rear-sited dwellings”, the “limited changes are not considered to address previous reasons for refusal”.
