Southern Premier South: Yate Town 1-4 Blackfield and Langley

A hat-trick from Lerone Plummer saw Blackfield and Langley get off to the perfect start in their first game in the Southern Premier South as they defeated Yate Town.

Blackfield have propelled themselves through the leagues with two consecutive promotions, their most recent was lifting the Southern Division One title on the final day with a 2-0 victory over Yate.

Lucky break

Plummer opened the scoring for Blackfield in the 16th minute as he was played through before having his shot spilt by Yate keeper Adam Foster to allow him to tap in at the second attempt.

Just before half time, Blackfield doubled their lead when Sam Griffin slotted home. Blackfield’s second half did not start as comfortably as the first as Adam Tomasso saw red for a dangerous challenge before Yate’s Olly Mehew scored from the penalty spot.

Plummer does the job

Plummer reinstated Blackfield’s two-goal lead as he broke past the Yate’s defence before slotting past Foster.

He then completed his hat-trick and sealed three points for Blackfield in the 90th minute as he burst past the Yate defence again before calmly finishing into the net to strongly kickstart Blackfield’s campaign.
