Public invited to question Hampshire Chief Constable Scott Chilton in live session hosted by police and crime commissioner Donna Jones

PEOPLE are invited to put their crime and policing questions to Hampshire’s police chief in a live online Q&A this week.

Hosted by police and crime commissioner Donna Jones, Chief Constable Scott Chilton will be put on the spot for COPS (Commissioner’s Oversight of Policing Services) at 6pm on Thursday 12th December.

It will be streamed across three Facebook pages – the PCC’s, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary.

Members of the public can pre-submit questions or ask them during the live session, with the PCC’s office promising to endeavour to respond to all.

PCC Jones said: “My role as police commissioner is to hold the chief constable to account to deliver the police force you expect.

“COPS is your chance to ask us both questions on the police and crime issues that matter most to you.”

The session will focus on the commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan priorities which were devised after a public consultation in the summer.

Police visibility, business and retail crime, road safety, rural crime, serious violence, and anti-social behaviour are all on the agenda.

A recording will be made available for those who cannot watch it live.
