Police drop investigation into criminal allegation relating to The Montessori Preschool at Christchurch Infant School on Addiscombe Road

POLICE have dropped a criminal investigation relating to a Christchurch preschool more than six months after an arrest.

As reported in the A&T, The Montessori Preschool, based at Christchurch Infant School on Addiscombe Road, had its registration suspended by education watchdog Ofsted when the probe launched in October 2024.

It was closed on Friday 4th October after police were seen there the previous day.

At the time, a Dorset force spokesperson confirmed it was liaising with partners while investigating a criminal allegation linked to the preschool.

However, they declined to release details of the nature of the arrest and investigation.

A force spokesperson has now said: “This matter has been the subject of a detailed investigation. However, following a review of the available evidence it has now been confirmed that the arrested individual will face no further police action.

“Our investigation has now concluded and we have informed all relevant parties in relation to this.”
