A POLICE search was launched following local reports a naked man “wearing bondage gear” had been spotted near a New Forest beauty spot.

The alarm was raised shortly before 2pm on April Fools Day as posters on social media stated the individual had been seen near to Bolton’s Bench, off the B3056 Beaulieu Road in Lyndhurst.

A Hampshire police spokesperson told the A&T reports to officers from the public suggested the man was naked and wearing a mask, but there were no further details as to what type of mask it was.

“We can confirm that officers were called out to an incident at 1.57pm on Thursday 1st April following reports of a suspicious man near to Bolton’s Bench in Lyndhurst,” the spokesperson said.

“Our officers conducted a search of the area, but were unable to locate any individual matching the description provided to us.”
