POLICE are hunting for witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was knocked of his bike and broke his wrist in a collision with a car near the Iford Roundabout last night (Wednesday).

The accident happened at about 8.20pm at the junction of Christchurch and Colemore roads. The teen was treated at hospital for the injury, and also suffered concussion.

Dorset Police is looking for the driver involved who reportedly failed to stop, and say the car was a dark-coloured BMW, possibly with a registration number beginning with HF56.

Constable Mike Burt of the traffic unit said: “We are making enquiries into this collision and are keen to identify the driver of the vehicle involved.

“I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage to please come forward.

“I would also appeal to the driver involved if they see this appeal to contact us so we can take your account.”

Those with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55200135837, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
