A WOMAN was sexually assaulted by a fellow passenger on a bus through Christchurch.

Dorset Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to track down following the incident, which took place on a 1A Yellow Bus service on Monday 11th March.

The victim, who is in her 20s, had got on at around 3.20pm at the stop by KFC on Barrack Road, said officers.

Two men got on a couple of stops later by the Tesco garage on the same road, and one of them sat on the seat next to her.

The man made advances towards the victim, repeatedly asking her personal questions and mentioning her perfume.

He leaned in towards her and attempted to kiss her neck about five times.

Continuing his attempts to engage with the victim, the offender inappropriately touched her leg three or four times despite her asking him to stop.

Officers investigating the incident are urging people to come forward if they may have witnessed it taking place or recognise the man caught on CCTV.

PC Louise Rowswell said: “This bus was travelling from Christchurch to Boscombe at the time of this incident.

“The victim was extremely intimidated by this man and felt pinned to her seat.

“Enquiries have been carried out in a bid to identify the man in these CCTV images and I would ask anyone who knows him to please contact Dorset Police.”

Anyone with information should call the force on 101, quoting crime reference number 55190037396, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
