Called out shortly before 3pm, firefighters from Hardley quickly contained the flames.

The following day, just before 5pm, a Hythe crew responded to another small fire in the open which involved 10 square metres of grassland at Forest Front in the town.

Using a hose reel, they brought the emergency under control in just over half an hour.

Those with information about either blaze should contact Hampshire police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
