Police plea after van stolen from Elm Crescent in Hythe found damaged on Long Lane in Holbury




Police have launched an appeal after a stolen van was found abandoned and badly damaged.

The Ford Transit was taken from Elm Crescent, Hythe over the weekend of 9th and 10th December, and found on Long Lane, Holbury, at 2.30pm on Sunday.

It is believed to have been involved in a crash on Long Lane, in the bus stop opposite New Forest Academy, between midday and 2.30pm.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash or its aftermath.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Did you see anything? Did you spot the driver, or any other occupants of the van, and could you provide a description of them, or their last direction of travel?

“Can you remember when you first spotted the van being driven along, or parked up on Long Lane?

“Do you have any footage of the van being driven, or of the road traffic incident itself, including dashcam, doorbell camera, mobile phone, or any CCTV?”
