Police release CCTV image after road crash puts two in hospital
POLICE have released a CCTV image of a car, the driver of which they want to trace as investigations continue into a serious collision in Matchams Lane, Hurn.
Two people were hospitalised – with one in a potentially life-changing condition – following the incident involving a blue Mercedes, a black Mercedes, a red Toyota Yaris, a Yamaha motorcycle and a tanker carrying human waste on Friday 24th May.
As reported in the A&T, paramedics and police responded to a call-out around 2.20pm to the scene between Raceway and Snowtrax.
The tanker driver, a 52-year-old man from Poole, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious leg injuries, which were described as potentially life-changing.
The driver of the blue Mercedes, a 34-year-old Eastleigh man, suffered serious spine and leg injuries and was taken by ambulance to Poole General Hospital.
A road closure was put in place for over eight hours to allow a forensic examination to be carried out.
Now officers are trying to identify the driver of a silver Honda Jazz, which was captured on CCTV as it travelled along Matchams Lane at the time of the collision.
DC Michelle Underwood, of the serious collision investigation team, said: “I believe this motorist may be a possible witness and I would ask them to get in touch.
“The investigation into this collision remains ongoing and I would ask anyone who witnessed or has dash cam footage of a blue Mercedes and black Mercedes travelling along the road immediately prior to the incident to please come forward.”
