THE slip-road from the M27 into Cadnam has reopened over five hours after emergency services responded to a serious crash.

Few details have so far been revealed about the incident, which took place around 11.30am today (Wednesday), except that it involved a single vehicle.

The closure was put in place at the eastbound junction one off-slip, and a post on the Hampshire Roads Policing Twitter account earlier this afternoon said there was “no current timescale” for its reopening.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes, with HGVs directed to junction two at Ower for access to New Forest truck roads the A35 and A337.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.30am today following a serious collision on the slip road between the A31 and the M27. This involved one vehicle. We will issue more details when we can.”
