New Forest District Council hikes garden waste collection

THE annual subscription for a garden waste sack from New Forest District Council will rise from £37 to £41 from April.

An NFDC spokesperson said some homeowners had received a one-off discount last year on the price to “take account of service disruptions” including the Covid pandemic and HGV driver shortages.

They added: “With this cost increase in place, we are still one of the lower charging local authorities in Hampshire for garden waste.”
