Beaulieu Camera Group keeps visitors in the picture at village fete display

SNAP-HAPPY photographers showed off their eye for a good shot with a display of their efforts at Beaulieu’s village fete.

Nearly every member of Beaulieu Camera Group (BCG) was represented in a total of 67 prints, plus an extra display of photos taken at local platinum jubilee events by Hilary Flaxman and Emma Port.

High Sheriff of Hampshire Lady Edwina Grosvenor, who opened the fete, was invited to choose her favourite print from the display.

She selected Porcelain Fungi by Ian Hutchinson, commenting it reminded her of walks in the New Forest, and presented him with a bottle of Champagne.

The annual Bob Grier Trophy, for the print that receives the most public votes at the fete, went to A Leap at Lepe.

Maggie White, who captured the photo of a jumping dog, was awarded by Sue Grier.

Thanking those who organised the exhibit, a BCG spokesperson said: “The fete is a great showcase for Beaulieu Camera Group and certainly this year the quality of work on display was superb.”

BCG meets at Beaulieu Primary School at 7.30pm on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
