Southern Water reassures customers after pump failure at Testwood Water Supply Works

A water firm has said no customers have been affected by water supply issues despite a pump failure this morning (Thursday).

Southern Water said earlier today that customers in postcodes SO14, SO40, SO42, SO45 – which includes Marchwood, Totton, Brockenhurst, Beaulieu and Fawley – could be hit by low pressure or no water.

This is because of a “technical failure of pumps at Testwood Water Supply Works”, a spokesperson for the water firm said.

They added: “Our teams are working round the clock to fix this issue. We have already started deliveries of bottled water to our most vulnerable customers.”

However, Southern Water has now reassured customers it has received “no reports” of changes to water pressure or loss of supply.

“Despite this fact, and that the fault has been addressed, supplies may still be affected at some point today, as we replenish our reservoirs,” the spokesperson added.
