Colour run for students from Ringwood School

A colour run featuring over 1,000 students from Ringwood School will take place with participants showered with dazzling shades of powder.

They will make their way through five stations during the three-and-a-half-mile route around the town on 17th July.

A spokesperson for the school said they will reach the finishing line in a “rainbow of happiness”.

The powder is non-toxic, eco-friendly and easily brushed off or washed away by rain, although the school says it hopes “much of it will stay on the participants as colourful mementos of the day”.

A clean-up team will ensure the event leaves behind nothing but "colourful footprints", and money raised from the run will be used to upgrade changing rooms at the school.

Sam Coombes, operations manager at the school, said: “It’s a fantastic way to unite our school community, promote fitness and fun, and raise funds for much-needed improvements to changing facilities for our students.”

Anytime Fitness will provide finisher medals for all participants and help to lead high-energy warm-up sessions before each wave of runners takes off.

Elliot Burton, club manager, said “We are delighted to be involved in this fantastic event for the community in Ringwood.“

The school is appealing for people to help out by being marshals on the day.
