Mudeford Beach hut on sale for £440,000 has 'queue' of eager buyers

A MUDEFORD beach hut is on sale for £440,000 – more than 1.5 times the UK's average house price.

The blue-and-white wooden cabin on the popular seaside location was described by Denisons estate agency as being “perfectly located”.

It boasts “amazing sea views towards the Isle of Wight" and apparently already has a queue of people wanting to buy it.

Around nine years old, it has a fully fitted kitchen which includes a full-size gas cooker and can sleep up to eight people.

It is decorated in a nautical theme and has wooden panelling inside.

It has no loo but does have solar panels which power the 600-watt mains.

Estate agent Andy Denison told the A&T: “It is a very nice hut in good condition. It fronts right onto the beach and is proving very popular.

"We have a list of people who want to buy a hut at Mudeford and there has been a lot of interest in this one.

“I don’t expect it will take long to sell.”

Mr Denison said his agency has sold around 100 beach huts at Mudeford over the years and it seemed his buyers are not affected by the rising cost of living.

He said: “There is always a great demand for them. They are in a unique position in a lovely part of the country.”

The agency has sold three beach huts on the spit to UK-based buyers over the past six weeks.

According to latest figures from the Office for National Statistics, in July the average price of a home in the UK was £292,000.

Mr Denison said the beach hut has been in the same family for “some years.”

Such is the interest in the hut, the agency did not expect it stay on the market for very long and advises “early viewings”.
