Raiders return to snatch second helping of lobsters and crabs
THIEVES netted a £250 haul of crabs and lobsters when a popular family-run Lymington shellfish business was broken into for the second time within five months.
A CCTV camera was smashed and a lock was broken to gain entry to a chiller at S & J Shellfish sometime during Tuesday night before the intruders escaped with the stock.
As reported in the A&T, the premises on Snooks Farm in Snooks Lane was previously targeted during the night of Monday 25th February.
On that occasion, offenders smashed a lock with what was thought to have been a hammer and stole around £400 of live lobster and cooked crabs.
February’s raid, in which a till containing an £18 float was also stolen, forced the business to remain shut for the whole of the following day.
Expressing staff’s despair at being hit by a break-in for the second time, a post on the business’s Facebook page called for people to alert police if they can aid their investigation.
“Can’t believe it’s happened again.. second time this year,” the post said.
“We got broken into again last night and had stock stolen!
