Raiders take £7,000 worth of jewels, fragrances and cash from home
JEWELLERY, cash and fragrances to the value of £7,000 were stolen by thieves from a Barton home.
The raiders targeted Debbie and Ian West’s property in Barton Lane between 11am on Tuesday 27th October and 2pm on Thursday 29th, Hampshire police confirmed.
“A number of items including jewellery, cash and fragrances were stolen from the property, with an approximate value of £7,000,” a spokesman for the force said.
Speaking to the A&T, Debbie said the couple wanted to warn people to “not to let their guard down”, adding: “These guys seemed very proficient in what they did; they gained access and left no footprints, and there was very little trace in the house.”
She added they were left bemused as the areas searched within the house and floors were found to be wet – even suggesting the burglars might have used a spray to cover their tracks.
However, the police spokesman said: “We are not aware of any such spray that can be used by burglars to minimise detection."
