Trespass on line between Brockenhurst and Southampton Central stations causes disruption for South Western Railway train passengers
A TRESPASS on the railway is causing disruption for passengers travelling between Brockenhurst and Southampton Central this afternoon (Friday).
South Western Railway announced the incident around 11.50am, saying all lines were blocked and journeys were likely to take longer.
Trains had to run at reduced speeds, with warnings of cancellations, delays or revisions.
All the lines reopened by 12.25pm, but SWR said disruption was expected to continue until at least 2pm.
A spokesperson said: “For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
Passengers preferring to continue their journey on local buses can check traveline.info but SWR tickets are not valid on these unless stated.
