James Alford handed rehab orders for assaulting a woman and a police officer in the Ringwood area




ATTACKING a woman and a police officer in the Ringwood area resulted in a man being handed rehabilitation orders by magistrates.

James Alford (48), from Southampton, pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman and damaging her landline phone in the town on 27th June.

As well as these, Alford admitted assaulting PC Pressly-Smith while being arrested for the offences on 3rd July.

Requirements to undergo drug rehabilitation and rehabilitation activity sessions were included in a 12-month community order issued by the Bench.

The defendant was also handed a 12-month restraining order, banning him from contacting the assault and damage victim or entering a Hightown street.

He was also told to pay £100 compensation for the police officer assault, but no order was made for prosecution costs.
