Mudeford RNLI crews rescue man who fell from rock groyne amid incoming tide fears on Avon Beach
A man was rescued after falling from a rock groyne on a Mudeford beach amid concerns over the incoming tide.
The alarm was raised around 5.30am on Saturday, with fears for the casualty’s safety due to his location on the shoreline at Avon Beach pending an ambulance’s arrival.
An RNLI shore crew was sent to find him, with the crew treating his head and left arm injuries before handing him over to paramedics.
Volunteer lifeboat operations manager Steve Doe said afterwards: “The incoming tide was causing concern that the casualty could be in a dangerous situation before the ambulance could reach him.
“The casualty care training that we give our crew meant that we could treat the casualty on scene. We hope he makes a speedy recovery.”
