Ringwood based Churchill group raise amazing £7208 for Macmillan Cancer Support
More than £70,000 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support by Ringwood-based Churchill Retirement Living with teams around the country holding coffee mornings, cakes sales and bake-off competitions.
One group of colleagues undertook a ‘Mighty Hike’, and the company donated £5 for every new customer who attended a coffee morning with an equal amount.
Further funds were raised through a grand prize draw run by the company’s own charity the Churchill Foundation.
A total £72,708 was collected.
Lisa Sainsbury, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are so grateful for the long standing commitment of the Churchill group. The incredible amount they have raised is helping us with our vital work and to support people affected by cancer.”
Clinton McCarthy, MD and co-founder of Churchill Retirement Living, added: “I am very proud of the total amount raised. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events are a fantastic way to bring colleagues, apartment owners and local communities together while raising money for a very deserving cause.”
