Slim-pickings for AFC Totton in Southern Division One South
Southern Divison One South: Slimbridge AFC 5-2 AFC Totton
AFC Totton were emphatically beaten 5-2 by Slimbridge AFC in Southern Division One South over the weekend.
The Stags got off to a dreadful start at Thornhill Park, conceding the opening goal after just three minutes when Solomon Wanjau-Smith swept the Swans ahead.
Totton reacted well to that early setback, and Pip Nolan equalised after 10 minutes when he rifled home from the edge of the box when a corner was only half-cleared.
On 17 minutes, the Stags went in front when top-scorer Craig Feeney (pictured) rifled low into the bottom corner.
William Peck levelled in added time at the end of the first half when he arrived unmarked at the back post to head home a free-kick.
The Swans were ahead on 65 minutes when Callum Chugg got under a long ball, and his header dropped close to him. This allowed Myron Turner to steal the ball, and from that point, he proceeded to fire past Hall, once again it was a poor goal defensively.
If that was not bad enough just four minutes later, it was 4-2 to the Swans when Matt Hall could only parry a shot to substitute Jamie Martin who was quickest to the rebound, and he made no mistake.
It went from bad to worse for the Stags on 75 minutes as a basic ball down the middle saw Adam Price beat the Totton’s defenders to the ball and he swept home a fifth goal for the hosts.
Totton remain just outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.
