RSPCA investigate TikTok video of 'abandoned' dogs in New Forest home
THE RSPCA is investigating a social media video of three dogs apparently abandoned in appalling conditions in a house in Totton.
The video posted on TikTok has had nearly 24,000 views and claimed the dogs had been left for weeks over the summer with little food and water.
The footage, filmed through the windows and published by an account named STOPfeh, showed chaotic scenes inside the lounge of the home with the floor covered in faeces.
According to the person filming, a back door had been left open but the patio outside was so overgrown with brambles it was difficult for the dogs to use it.
A series of videos was posted with commentary saying: “There is nowhere suitable for the dogs to use the toilet as the brambles are incredibly thorny, posing risk of injury.”
It added that on the floor of the lounge was a “plethora of excrement” and there was “green water” in a drinking bottle.
It claimed the owners of the house had moved elsewhere and left the dogs.
Police had been contacted, it said, but they were told nothing could be done and the alarm was raised with the RSPCA.
The dogs are believed to have now been removed from the home by their owners.
A spokesman for the RSPCA told the A&T it was investigating, saying: "We're aware of this but we're unable to discuss complaints about specific individuals.
"We understand how frustrating that is for animal lovers but releasing information could prejudice an investigation or could lead to us being fined.”
