New Milton Town Council grants land use requests for New Life Church Good Friday event, Wipeout World inflatable assault course, and Geocache in Carrick Wood

A church Good Friday event, an inflatable assault course, and a treasure-hunting facility were granted land use in New Milton.

The town council’s amenities committee agreed that New Life Church can use the recreation ground, off Whitefield and Old Milton roads, for its Good Friday Picnic on 18th April from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

A recent committee meeting also saw it give the go-ahead for Wipeout World to again hold an inflatable event at Moore Close on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April.

Town council estates and facilities manager Mark Jeffries noted organisers always left the site in excellent condition.

The committee also allowed a member of the public’s request to place a Geocache within Carrick Wood.

Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a GPS receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek the Geocach containers. These usually contain a logbook for finders to sign.

Stressing the containers are small and not easily visible, mayor Cllr Alvin Reid said Geocaching was a good pastime to get people out and about.

Members agreed to allow it as long as the environment is not harmed in any way.
