Stags rally from two-goal deficit in second half

AFC TOTTON nabbed a well-earned point after coming from 3-1 down in the first half to draw 3-3 away at Mangotsfield United.

The Stags went ahead early in the first half. Adam McWilliam was the man on the scoresheet as his rocket free-kick found the top right corner past keeper Marko Radovanovic.

But their lead did not last long as leading scorer Daniel Demkiv fired home on 16 minutes to give the hosts an equaliser. The Stags struggled to build on their excellent start, and the hosts started to press forward.

After 36 minutes, Mangotsfield went ahead when Demkiv got the last touch in a goalmouth scramble. Demkiv rounded off his fantastic performance with a hat-trick and his 10th league goal of the season two minutes before the half-time interval.

With an uphill challenge in the second period, the Stags looked to salvage what they could from the game.

Ollie Bradley had a good chance saved shortly after the restart. But it was Pip Nolan who eventually got the visitors back in the game as he blasted home from the edge of the box to give the visitors hope.

With the game entering its final stages, the Stags became desperate and started to chuck bodies forward in search of an equaliser.

Deep into injury time, the ball fell to Bradley 20 yards out and, on the half volley, fired into the corner to make it 3-3 and hand AFC Totton a deserved point after a fantastic second-half performance.
