Police find stolen moped hidden in shrubbery at Holmsley Passage a month after theft




A STOLEN moped was found hidden in shrubbery by a police officer a month after being taken from a New Forest car park.

The discovery of the Piaggio Vespa was made during a routine patrol at Holmsley Passage shortly after 6.30pm last Thursday.

Having established the bike was stolen from Holmsley car park during the night of Friday 12th July, the force traced and contacted its rightful owner.

Posting online, the officer said: “While checking my usual spots for criminality I noticed what appeared to be a marker that someone had left near to some thick shrubbery.

“On peering inside and to my amazement there was a complete moped which had been camouflaged and hidden from view.”
