Suspected drug-driver arrested after two-vehicle crash at Dibden
A SUSPECTED drug-driver was arrested following a collision between a car and a van at Dibden.
The smash involving a Ford Focus and a Ford Transit van took place on the brow of the hill on Main Road at Dibden around 10.15am on Sunday.
All of the occupants of the vehicles had got themselves out by the time the emergency services arrived at the scene.
Four casualties were assessed and treated by paramedics for minor injuries before one of them was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for further treatment.
Officers arrested the Focus driver, a 24-year-old man from London, on suspicion of driving a vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
He was later released under investigation.
A tweet about the incident by the Waterside police account urged people to “#RatOnARat” by dialling 101 to report anyone they suspect is drug-driving.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue team from Hythe also responded to the collision to help ensure the scene was safe.
