Southern Water sewage alerts at Becton Bunny in Barton

Two alerts were issued by Southern Water following suspected sewage discharges in bathing water at Barton.

They both happened today at Sunnyfield Road, which feeds into Becton Bunny.

There were two reports on Southern Water’s Beachbuoy site, a 46-minute discharge from 12.40pm, and a 12-minute incident from 2.06pm.

The alerts were reviewed by Southern Water, and were later ruled to be “not genuine”.
