Totton man Craig Daniels handed suspended jail term for drunken assault on woman
DRUNKENLY attacking a woman landed a Calmore man with a suspended prison sentence.
Craig Daniels (34), of Benbow Gardens, was found guilty by Southampton magistrates, having denied a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to an incident in Totton on 23rd July last year.
The Bench called the offence a “nasty assault”, which was committed while drunk when children were present and saw Daniels spit at the victim.
He was handed a six-month jail term suspended for 18 months, with a supervision requirement and ordered to undertake the Building Better Relationships programme.
As well as this, Daniels must carry out 100 hours of unpaid community work.
He was also handed an 18-month restraining order, banning him from entering a Totton address, and told to pay £929 in court charges.
