Poole magistrates hand down suspended jail term to Christchurch man Miles Maddock for brandishing machete




BRANDISHING a machete in public saw a Christchurch man handed a suspended prison sentence.

Miles Maddock (20), of Briar Close, committed the offence on 3rd November last year in Millhams Street North in the town.

Appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article in a public place and admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear.

The defendant was handed a six-month sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to pay court charges of £239.

Maddock must also abstain from alcohol for 120 days and complete a rehabilitation requirement of up to 35 days.
