Drug-drive arrest after BMW ploughs into railings off roundabout at Commercial Road in Totton




A SUSPECTED drug-driver was arrested after a car ploughed into railings off a Totton roundabout in the early hours today (Thursday).

Police responded to a call-out around 2.40am and found a heavily damaged BMW on Commercial Road.

No injuries were reported.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old local man on suspicion of drug-driving and later released him under investigation.

An image of the wrecked vehicle was shared on Twitter by the Hampshire roads policing unit.

“The driver of this vehicle in Totton unfortunately didn't manage to navigate a roundabout and ended up in the railings,” the tweet said.

“Driver blamed a tyre blowout, we think the cannabis in his system may have had something to do with it!”
