Driver's lucky escape after car rolls onto roof at Vereley, near Burley




A MOTORIST escaped serious injury when a car rolled onto its roof near Burley on Sunday night.

The incident took place around 9.45pm on an unnamed road in the Vereley area of the New Forest, between Ringwood Road and the A31 at Picket Post.

Firefighters from Burley provided emergency care to the casualty, an 18-year-old man, who had suffered minor injuries.

He was then handed over to paramedics, but a South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson said he was not taken to hospital.

Police helped with traffic management and the fire crews ensured the scene was safe as the road remained blocked in both directions for about 90 minutes until the vehicle was recovered.
