Teens charged following attempted robberies at Rum Walk and Eling recreation ground in Totton
TWO teenagers have been charged following a series of attempted robberies in Totton which saw their victims reportedly threatened with knives.
The incidents took place at Rum Walk last Tuesday and at nearby Eling recreation ground on Bartram Road the following day. Both happened around 3.20pm.
A spokesperson for Hampshire police said on both occasions the victims, aged 16, were allegedly threatened with knives and told to hand over property.
A 15-year-old local boy has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
He attended Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and has since been released on court bail.
A 16-year-old boy from London, also charged with two counts of robbery, was due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).
