Friends invited to service honouring Lady Montagu of Beaulieu
FRIENDS and associates of Fiona, Lady Montagu, are being invited to attend a thanksgiving service at Beaulieu Abbey Domus followed by a reception at Palace House.
Lady Montagu passed away peacefully at her home in London in May aged 79 after a short illness, and a private funeral has already taken place. The thanksgiving will be held at 1.30pm on Friday 13th October.
After the death of Edward, Lord Montagu in 2015, Lady Montagu had lived in London but before that she had dedicated her life to Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum. Her role involved championing the Countryside Education Trust which included raising considerable funds for the charity through her annual Christmas Fair at Palace House.
Her son, Jonathan Montagu said: “We would like those in the local community who knew her to save the date and join us for this celebration of her life.”
