Lime Wood Hotel number one in Top 50 Boutique Hotel Awards

A NEW Forest hotel has risen to the top in a prestigious list of the finest boutique spots in the UK.

Lime Wood Hotel in Lyndhurst soared 18 places on last year's list in the Top 50 Boutique Hotel Awards, which are judged by more than 100 experts in the hospitality industry.

In naming the hotel their top pick, the judges said: “Lime Wood is a hotel that offers it all in buckets and spades.”

Lime Wood managing director Kenneth Speirs said he was "absolutely thrilled" with the award, adding: "This incredible achievement is fantastic recognition for the whole team and the highest form of reward for their dedication and commitment demonstrated daily.

"It is a tremendous acknowledgement of what we have built over the past 13 years, and as a team we look forward to continuing to excite and surprise our guests for years to come.”

The honour is the latest gong to grace the hotel's mantelpiece, after being named AA Spa Hotel of the Year 2022 and Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2022.

It also grabbed the Good Hotel Guide’s Editor's Choice, Time and Sunday Times Travel and the Homes & Gardens Design awards.

One of the hotel's big draws is the Hartnett Holder & Co Italian restaurant run by Luke Holder and TV chef Angela Hartnett.

Lime Wood chair Robin Hutson praised the hotel's management: "Our fabulous team's attitude and culture under the guidance of Kenneth, together with Luke and Angela's partnership in the restaurant, is what so many guests remark upon.

"I am super proud of them all. If that wasn't enough, our sister hotel, The Pig at Bridge Place, scooped fourth place too, so chuffed on both counts.”

Top 50 Boutique Hotels list, as well as those of Top 50 Cocktail Bars and Top 50 Gastropubs are produced by The Morning Advertiser, a voice for the pub trade which was established in 1794.
