The Vaccines and Sister Sledge to headline New Forest festivals
INDIE chart toppers The Vaccines and disco legends Sister Sledge are set to headline two music festivals in the grounds of luxury New Forest hotels this summer.
The first of the two Smoked and Uncut festivals will take place at The Pig in Brockenhurst on 6th July, featuring headliners The Vaccines. Sister Sledge will then play at a second event at Lime Wood hotel in Lyndhurst on 27th July.
Billed as one of the coolest bands on the block, The Vaccines were formed in London in 2010 by Justin Hayward-Young, Freddie Cowan, Árni Árnason and Pete Robertson.
To date, the band has released four studio albums, What Did You Expect from The Vaccines? Come of Age, English Graffiti and Combat Sports, selling nearly two million records worldwide.
They have toured extensively, playing with and opening up for acts such as The Rolling Stones, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, The Stone Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Muse.
Sister Sledge were formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1971 by sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim and Kathy Sledge. The siblings achieved international success at the height of the disco era, releasing their breakthrough album We Are Family in 1979. More recently, they have played Glastonbury Festival.
Top London DJ Harriet Rose will also be appearing at both events, and the packed programme includes other top DJs, bands and singers.
Food and drink will also be high on the agenda at both Smoked and Uncut festivals, with TV chef Angela Hartnett returning with her pop-up field kitchen serving seasonal Italian fare.
This year Lime Wood will also feature an overnight glamping village. Tickets are on sale now, priced from £39.
