A THIEF and fraudster from Cadnam has been ordered to undertake mental health treatment.
Matthew Stevens (23), of Southampton Road, pleaded guilty to stealing a handbag from a motor vehicle at Portswood, Southampton, on 28th January.
He also admitted entering the vehicle without the owner’s consent, putting him in breach of a criminal behaviour order placed on him by Dorset Adult Care on 21st July last year.
Stevens pleaded guilty to two charges of fraud by false representation after attempting to use a bank card not in his name for financial gain at Newsmaster and Gamenation, both in Portswood Road, on 28th January.
The defendant also admitted stealing eight bottles of prosecco worth £75 from a Co-op store on the same date.
Southampton magistrates imposed a six-month community order for mental health treatment, and ordered five days of rehabilitation activity. They also fined Stevens £50.
