Police alert to look out for solid brass mortars and pestles stolen in burglary at Minstead home

POLICE are asking people to be on the lookout for unusual loot stolen from a Minstead home – a set of solid brass mortars and pestles.

It is believed the items may have been put up for sale since being taken in a raid on a property in the Football Green area, which took place during the night of 12th January.

Various tools were also stolen after thieves forced a gate and door to gain entry to the dwelling.

In a Facebook appeal over three weeks after the break-in, local officers shared an image of a mortar and pestle like the ones being sought.

“If you have seen them recently or been offered them, please let us know,” it said.
