A social media post by the station this afternoon praised the Land Rover’s off-road capabilities “enabling our crews to contain the fire and stop it spreading underground”.

A hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and more than 3,000 litres of water were used to put out the blaze.

“When not put out properly, this is the result.”
