THREE people were arrested after a police pursuit in Christchurch resulted in a stolen vehicle being in collision with another, causing minor injuries.

The chase began around 2.40pm yesterday (Thursday) when officers responded to reports a vehicle thought to have been stolen was seen travelling on the A35 towards the town.

Having been followed by patrol cars, it collided with another vehicle in Somerford Road, at its junction with Stroud Park Avenue, around 3.30pm.

Paramedics responded and assessed a male patient at the scene, but a South Western Ambulance Service spokesperson said he did not need to be taken to hospital.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old from Ringwood on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possessing a class B-drug, supplying a class B dug and a driving offence.

An 18-year-old man from the Ringwood area and a 19-year-old man from Christchurch were each arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a class-B drug with intent to supply.

All three were still assisting officers with their enquiries this morning (Friday).

The road was closed off by its junction with Park Gardens for about three hours while the incident was dealt with and investigated.
