New Park Manor, Chewton Glen and Lime Wood Hotel feature in The Times - 100 Best Places to Stay in the UK
Three New Forest hotels are featured in The Times top 100 places to stay in the UK for 2025.
Brockenhurst’s New Park Manor appears alongside Lime Wood Hotel in Lyndhurst and Chewton Glen Hotel in New Milton in the round-up published in the Sunday Times.
The list , which features traditional country houses, trendy city hotels and busy seaside resorts, has been whittled down from hundreds of hospitality venues across the UK. Each is said to have “something special” that makes them “a really great place to stay”.
After undergoing a £7m refurb in 2024, New Park Manor in Brockenhurst is also named family-friendly hotel of the year, thanks to its spacious spa facilities and free childcare offering.
The former hunting lodge of Charles II features 25 bedrooms, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a superb playground, and an Ofsted-registered child care facility, which is available to all hotel guests.
Hailed as a family-friendly magnet for exhausted parents, The Times state that children “treat the place like home from the second they arrive”, and enjoy extra treats like bedtime cookies.
The Times continues: “Such liberty is encouraged by the smiling staff, ever ready to dote on children of all ages and somehow remembering names and food-related foibles as they dish out the ketchup and ice-cream sprinkles.”
New Milton’s 72-bedroom Chewton Glen Hotel, with its 18th-century chocolate box exterior, has plenty to delight guests thanks to a smart spa and stunning floral displays, writes The Times, continuing: “Subtle facelifts have injected contemporary touches amid the chintz, with fashionable fabrics, curved leather banquette booths in the dining room, and squidgy outdoor seating.”
Lime Wood Hotel also features, with nods to its excellent spa and a ”breezily modern approach to the English country-house blueprint”.
The Times described the former Georgian manor house’s 33 bedrooms as “stealth wealth sanctuaries” continuing: “The roaring fires in the elegant sitting rooms and the smart courtyard bar with its retractable glass roof ensure stylish lounging whatever the weather.”
The hotels Italian-inspired cuisine created by celebrity chef Angela Hartnett and her HH&Co culinary partner Luke Holder is another highlight.
