Adventure Wonderland theme park assembles Alice actors for 30th anniversary

ACTORS who have played the role of Alice were brought together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Adventure Wonderland theme park.

They were invited to a special event to mark entertaining more than 1-million guests since the launch of the attraction, near Bournemouth airport at Hurn.

The park features a combination of outdoor rides, indoor play and resident character entertainment. It originally opened as the Alice in Wonderland Park, with guests greeted by Lewis Carroll’s storybook stars, and over the years has evolved into the family theme park it is today.

“The characters here have always been a hugely loved aspect of the entertainment we provide,” said Lucy Lucas-Rowe, Adventure Wonderland’s director.

“We never imagined when we planted the Alice in Wonderland maze from thousands of beech trees in 1991 that we would still be here 30 years later.

“We now have families who visited as children in the 1990s who are now bringing their own children for days out, which is so lovely to hear.”

The assembled Alices were treated to a preview performance of the park’s brand new show, Mr Rabbit’s Big Party, and saw its new crazy golf course.

Andy Brennan, the park’s entertainment manager, said: “We wanted to celebrate the event by bringing back all of our previous Alice actresses.

“It was quite the mission to track everyone down but the response has been incredible. Alices have travelled from all over the country to join the fun!”

Ms Lucas-Rowe added: “I am very proud, especially given the difficulties we experienced last year with the pandemic, that we are still a thriving local business, delivering family fun to locals and holidaymakers alike. Here’s to the next 30 years!”
